Worship at St. Andrew's

In corporate worship we unite ourselves with others to acknowledge the holiness of God,

to hear God's Word, to offer prayer, and to celebrate the sacraments.

Worship is central to ministry at St. Andrew's. We gather for worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

Whether you are a lifelong Episcopalian, from another faith tradition, exploring your faith,

or just visiting, you are welcome to join in worship!

The parishioners value the role of music in the worship services. Presently, there is the Senior Choir for adults. Music is provided for the regular Sunday morning worship, Easter, Thanksgiving, the Patronal Festival,

Christmas, and special services such as funerals and memorials. Music is selected to complement the liturgy appropriate to the occasion.

At St. Andrew's, worship is the focus from which our programs and activities emanate, with the Holy Eucharist at the center. Services include the pomp and pagentry of the chanted "High Mass" and, at the other end of the spectrum, the spoken "Low Mass." Morning Prayer is used as a variation for the Ministry of the Word.

The Easter Vigil and the Christmas Eve Service of Lessons and music, followed by the Holy Eucharist, are highlights of our church year, along with the celebration of St. Andrew's Day in November.

Lay ministers play an important role in the worship service. In addition, the services are enhanced by the Altar Guild, and Tuskegee University students serving as Lectors.
